Fine Motor Activities
Here are some examples of fun activities to engage in while playing:
• Play on the
playground
• Pull child in a wagon over a bumpy surface
• Pull child while prone on
a scooter
• Propel a scooter with feet
• Scooter board relay races
• Trampoline jumping

Animal walks (crab, bear, frog)
• Red-Light Green-Light with hopping
• Log roll over
a large cushion
• Sit on a giant bean bag
• Swing child in a blanket or sheet
• Pull
a child while laying or sitting on a sheet
• Explore shaving cream with hands
• Explore
dry tactile bins with hands
• Scribble on paper, then draw lines and circular marks

Puzzles (start with large knobs)
• Read a book while turning pages and pointing to
named pictures
• Nest cups or stack rings
• Place large objects into and take objects
out of containers
• Place coins into a horizontal, then vertical slotted container

Stack blocks vertically and imitate block models (train, bridge, wall)
